Title. Brain oscillations and synchronization dynamics in cognitive functions  and their deficits

Abstract. Healthy brain function is based on dynamic routing of information in neuronal circuits. This flexible routing of information is thought to be enabled by neuronal oscillations and their synchronization across brain regions. My laboratory uses human electrophysiology to study the functional role of network synchronization and brain oscillation dynamics in cognitive functions and the influence of aberrant oscillation dynamics in leading to brain disease symptoms and cognitive deficits.  In this talk, I will discuss our results on within and cross-frequency synchronization, their aberrancies in brain diseases and factors regulating individual neuronal synchronization dynamics.
